There is a jam-packed programme being masterminded for 2025 - the dates are 23rd to 25th May and we really hope there will be something for everyone. The Hillwalk is a time when Trefonen is buzzing - so come and join us!

Scarecrow competition
Get an entry form from the village shop (£5) and make a brilliant scarecrow . Straw is available from New Barns. Put him/her on the Green by The Barley Mow during the week before the Walk Weekend. PRIZE for the best !! There is also a guess the name of the scarecrow £1 forms in the shop. Don't forget they all need to go home by May 31st.

Murder Mystery Event - Friday 23rd May
Someone has dialled 999. The police are on their way. But, what has happened? Come along to Trefonen Village Hall at 7.00pm and join the team trying to solve the mystery of the Murder at Raymondo's.

Start 8am at

The now iconic 10 or 16 mile walk. Take the challenge and join our long walkers! Registration at Trefonen Village Hall (SY10 9DG) . Slower walkers must start early, from 8.00am. Fast walkers and runners should start after 9:00am to ensure checkpoints are open.

In the village hall at 7.30. Book your team (4 people ) in at the village shop ....just put £20 in an envelope with the name of your team on the front. This is our famous Quiz Master's last quiz...don't miss it !!!

A day for Family Walks
Register on at the tent
on the village green 8.00am to 5.00pm
Three signed routes starting at the tent by the scarecrows:
Buzzard Walk (6 miles), Curlew Walk (3.5 miles) and Jungle Walk (mud and more mud!).
Collect your map from tent and enjoy the walk! There's a churn at the top of the hill for your donation and a pop up cafe in the middle! Apart from 2002 (foot and mouth) and 2020 (pandemic), this part of the Trefonen Hill Walk has happened since 1991...it's the hub of the event.

This includes…drinks on route, walk leaflet & map, tea/coffee & cake back at Trefonen Village Hall, and transport back to the start in an emergency.
